Curbside pickup is available at the Idaho Springs Public Library and John Tomay Memorial Library! Follow the steps below to request items and schedule your pickup appointment.

Step One

Put items you want to check out on hold. You can do this three ways:

  • Through the catalog: If you’ve used our catalog to place holds in the past, keep doing it that way. Otherwise, you can watch this quick tutorial to learn how.
  • By email: Send an email to holds@cccld.org with your item requests, including the title, author, material format (book, audiobook, DVD, etc.), and any other distinguishing information.
  • Over the phone: Call us in Georgetown at 303-569-2620 or in Idaho Springs at 303-567-2020 to request items.
Step Two

We will contact you once your materials are ready to make an appointment time. Appointments are 15 minute windows during the following hours at both branches:

Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm

Saturday, 9 am – 1 pm

Step Three

Arrive at your scheduled appointment time to pick up your materials (we know many of you like to be early, but the early bird does not get the worm in this case!). There will be signage directing you to the designated spot with your materials. If you do not pick up your items within the 15 minutes following your scheduled appointment time, we will take them inside and contact you to reschedule your appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is curbside pickup?

Curbside pickup is our first phase in resuming physical library services. You can put items on hold either online or by phone and then set up an appointment to pick up your materials at your chosen branch. See our step-by-step instructions for more details.

When can I pick up my materials?

You will need to have an appointment in order to pick up your materials. We are making appointments during the following windows:

Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm

Saturday, 9 am – 1 pm

Arrive at your scheduled appointment time to pick up your materials. There will be signage directing you to the designated spot with your materials. If you do not pick up your items within the 15 minutes following your scheduled appointment time, we will take them inside and contact you to reschedule your appointment.

We know many of you like to be early, which we love in normal circumstances! However our schedule for curbside pickup appointments is tight, so we ask that you do not arrive earlier than your scheduled appointment time so that staff can safely accommodate all appointments.

Do I have to have a car to pick up materials?

Nope! You can walk, bike, drive, ride on a unicorn…we don’t mind. Just let us know how you’ll be arriving when you make your appointment.

How many items can I check out?

Each patron can check out ten items at a time – including up to four DVDs.

How often can I pick up items?

In order to accommodate as many patrons as we can, we are asking that you keep your appointments to once per week.

Is curbside pickup safe?

Patron and staff safety is our priority, so we are taking every precaution we can to make curbside pickup a safe experience.

Can I return the materials?

Yes! You can return items in any of our book drop locations. Please note that this is the only way we can safely accept materials at this time, so we ask that you do not leave materials in the pickup bins.

I returned my item – why didn’t it get checked in?

As a precaution, we quarantine returned items for three days before they are processed by library staff. Your items will be checked in three days after you return them. Don’t worry – you won’t get any fines! We have eliminated fines on all materials until further notice.

Will I get to see library staff?

While our curbside pickup program is contactless, a librarian will be around to confirm that you picked up your materials. Give us a wave – we miss you! Please know that we are keeping our distance for everyone’s safety, and we look forward to closer interactions when it is safe.

Are you taking book donations?

Book donations are being accepted at the Idaho Springs Public Library Monday-Thursday, 11 am – 4 pm. For large donations, please email kate@cccld.org or call 303-567-2020.

Thank you for your patience as we work to provide this service as safely as possible!
